About this blog
As a geospatial architect, developer and solution builder, I have been working with geospatial data and software for over 20 years. I have been using open-source software for most of my career, and I am a strong advocate for open-source geospatial software. You won't find grand theories on our industry and its trends here, but rather practical insights and tips on how to use geospatial software and data in real-world use cases. I'm not a pushover either, and I will share my honest opinions, even if it means being critical of some of the pieces of software everybody loves—as they happen to be nightmarish once you want them to fit your needs. All content on this blog reflects my personal views and experiences. It is not AI generated even if AI can help spelling and grammar, as I am not a native english speaker. I hope I can share my discoveries and thoughts with you here, and bring a personal touch to technical geospatial matters.
